Abstract

A latch assemblyincludes a base platehaving a striker groove, a latchprovided in the base plateand having a striker engaging groove, and a ratchetfor regulating rotation of the latchin unlatch direction. A looseness eliminating leveris attached to the latchby means of a pinmoving around a latch shaft, one end of the looseness eliminating leveris provided with a latch holding faceand an unlatch faceto contact with a postprovided at a specified position, the other end of the leveris provided with a springfor biasing the guide faceor the sliding faceto be always in contact with the post, and an apexas a dead center is formed between the guide faceand the sliding face. The guide faceis formed in an arc-shaped inclined surface so as to be remoter from the pinfrom a start end to a terminal end.
