Abstract

The light emitting device according to the present invention includes: a substrate (); a light emitting layer () provided on the substrate (); and a reflective layer () provided between the substrate () and the light emitting layer (). The reflective layer () includes plate-like inorganic oxide particles. The inorganic oxide particles are accumulated on the substrate () in such a way that the largest face of each of the inorganic oxide particles is oriented substantially parallel to the principal plane of the substrate ().
