Disclosed herein are ink compositions including an ink vehicle and a colorant, wherein the ink vehicle includes a compound having a formula of R—CONH—Ror R—CONH—R, wherein Ris an alkyl group having from 1 to about 18 carbon atoms and Ris an alkyl group having from about 3 carbon atoms to about 200 carbon atoms, wherein Rand Rhave the same number of carbon atoms or Rhas less carbon atoms than R, and wherein at least one of the alkyl groups for Rand Rincludes at least one hydroxyl group substituent.
