Abstract
One embodiment provides an adjustable guideto steer the endof a pipe stringinto position to be engaged and supported by a pipe gripping apparatus such as, for example, an externally gripping elevator assembly. The adjustable guidemay comprise a plurality of angularly distributed guide inserts, each having a sloped surfaceA to engage a pipe end.
