A modular wall systemincludes a number of decorative panels that are received in an extruded panel frame. The panel framesare positioned by connecting them to a wall railthat is attached to the building. The wall railand the panel frameeach have a groovethat accepts a fastener or clipby interference or snap fit to attach the panel frameto the wall rail. The grooveshave a dove-tail shape that permits a snap fit to secure the panelsyet permit the panels to be easily removed or reconfigured.
