Abstract
A lamp () has a light source () with a distal portion () and a proximal portion (), the proximal portion () comprising a press seal () having a given cross-section. A lamp envelope () receives the light source (), the envelope () being arrayed about a longitudinal axis () and having a base () generally orthogonal to the longitudinal axis (). A clip-receiving aperture () is formed in the base (), and at least one clip locator surface () is formed in the base () adjacent the clip-receiving aperture (). A clip () is positioned in the clip-receiving aperture (), the clip having a passage () shaped and formed to receive the press seal () of the light source () therein. The clip () has at least one first retainer () and at least one second retainer (), the at least one first retainer () being shaped and formed to engage the at least one clip locator surface (), whereby the clip () is located within the clip-receiving aperture (). The at least one second retainer () is shaped and formed to secure the clip () to the base (), and at least one third retainer () is shaped and formed to secure the press seal () of the light source () within the clip ().
