Abstract

The present invention relates to the fields of microbiology and vaccine technology, and concerns the development of a vaccine capable of conferring immunity to group Binfections. More particularly, the present invention relates to a novel fusion protein, comprising N-terminal region fragments of group Bsurface proteins, which confers immunity to invasive strains of the group B. It further pertains to an isolated nucleotide sequence encoding said fusion protein; a vector; a host cell; a vaccine; and a method for preventing or treating a group Binfection.
