Abstract

Methods to control lipophilic extractives inpulp and fibers are described. One method involves contacting the pulp or fibers with a composition containing at least one enzyme, such as at least one esterase or lipase or both, for a sufficient time and in a sufficient amount to control the lipophilic extractives present in the pulp or fibers.
