Abstract
A method for the treatment or prevention of a cell or tissue damage in a living subject due to the exposure to ionizing radiation is provided, which comprises administration to said subject of a compound of formula (I) wherein R' is H, OH, CONHor COCH, R″ is H or CH, R′″ is H or CH, and Xis a pharmaceutically acceptable counterion, in an amount sufficient to inhibit radiation-induced damage.
