Abstract
An efficient transfer of data including a plurality of data sections is achieved. In a data transfer system including a first DMAof a channel control unitand an MPof a processor unitthat sets a transfer parameter in the first DMA, while CKD format datais transferred from a cache memoryto a memoryof the channel control unit, the MPacquires a C fieldfrom the cache memoryand sets a transfer parameter in the first DMAon the basis of the acquired C field, the transfer parameter having attached thereto the C fieldand being used for transferring a K fieldfrom the cache memoryto the memory. The first DMAretrieves the C fieldattached to the transfer parameter, stores the C fieldin the memory, and transfers the K field from the cache memoryto the memoryaccording to the transfer parameter.
