Abstract
The present invention relates to metal processing lubricant compositions that are based on polyhydrocarbyl esters of aliphatic polyols, in particular tetrahydrocarbyl esters of pentaerythritol, wherein at least one hydrocarbyl group of the tetrahydrocarbyl ester comprises 6-14 carbon atoms and the other hydrocarbyl groups comprise 6-20 carbon atoms. The compositions are in particular suitable for metal forming operations, e.g. a cold rolling operation, a hot rolling operation or a drawing operation, and metal removing operations, e.g. grinding, milling, cutting, turning and honing.
