Abstract
An apparatus () monitors a protective device () of a machine (). The apparatus () has a switch housing () with a switch head () and an actuator (). In the closed state of the protective device (), the actuator interacts with the switch head () with that closed state being signaled. The apparatus () has a tumbler device () with a tumbler element () mounted movably in the apparatus () to lock releasably the closed state. The tumbler device () has a permanent magnet (). The magnetic force fixes the tumbler element () in a first position when the power supply to the apparatus () is switched off to lock the closed state of the protective device (), in a second position with the tumbler device () not locking the closed state.
