Abstract
A host device, a point of deployment (POD), and a method for recognizing an operation mode are disclosed. The host device interfaces with a point of deployment (POD), and includes an interface unit and a controller. The interface unit includes CD, CD, VS, VS, VPP, VPP, and IPDET ports. The controller outputs a mode confirmation signal to the POD via the IPDET port, and identifies that the POD supports an Internet Protocol (IP) Card M-Mode when the mode confirmation signal has been applied to the VSand VSports.
