Abstract

The present invention provides a film for optical use wherein interference patterns are inconspicuous, while hard coat properties and image sharpness are maintained. In the film for optical use, an undercoat layeris disposed between a base material layerand a resin layerhaving hard coat properties. Refractive index na of the base material layer, refractive index nb of the undercoat layerand refractive index nc of the resin layersatisfy the relationship of na≦nb≦nc or na≧nb≧nc (provided that na≠nc). The difference between the refractive index na of the base material layerand the refractive index nb of the resin layeris 0.5 or smaller. Since the difference of refractive indexes of adjacent layers is low, interference unevenness can be suppressed and image sharpness can be maintained.
