Abstract
With respect to a mobile wireless device in which a first housingand a second housingare foldably connected via a hinge, and in which a third housingcomprising a substantially rectangular display portionis connected to the second housingwith a rotation mechanism portionthat rotates in a plane that is parallel with respect to a surface of the second housing, an antennais placed at an end portion of the first housingon the side of the hinge, and a passive elementis placed at an end portion of the third housing. As a user rotates the third housingby 90° to view visual data in horizontally long display, the antennaand the passive elementare electro-magnetically coupled with each other, and the antenna characteristics of the antennaimprove. Thus, it becomes possible to provide an antenna that is more efficient when viewing visual data with a mobile wireless device, which is capable of receiving terrestrial digital TV and other visual data, on a screen that displays in a horizontally long manner.
