A pearlescent pigment () includes: a flaky substrate (); a titanium dioxide layer () that is formed on the flaky substrate (); and an oxazoline compound layer () that is formed on the titanium dioxide layer () with the titanium dioxide layer () being interposed between the flaky substrate () and the oxazoline compound layer (), and serves as a top surface of the pearlescent pigment ().
