Abstract

A driving signal includes an ejection driving pulse having an expansion element and a constriction element, and a non-ejection driving pulse having an expansion element and a holding element and a constriction element. The length of time from the end of the constriction element in the ejection driving pulse to the beginning of the expansion element in the non-ejection driving pulse is taken as t; the lengths of time of the expansion element, holding element, and constriction element in the non-ejection driving pulse are taken as a, b, and c, respectively; and the inherent vibration cycle of the liquid within the pressurizing chamber is taken as Tc. t, a, b, and c are within the ranges defined by the following equations:/42  (1)(5/8)−≦(3/4)−  (2)  (3).
