Abstract

A catalyst component for ethylene polymerization, comprising an organic silicon compound of the formula (I), below wherein Ris chosen from C-Caliphatic hydrocarbyl groups, and is substituted with at least one substituent chosen from halogens, C-Cacyloxy groups, epoxy, amino, C-Calkylamino groups, di(C-Calkyl)amino groups, C-Calkoxy groups, and oxo group; R, Rand R, which may be the same or different, are each chosen from C-Caliphatic hydrocarbyl, C-Calicyclic hydrocarbyl, C-Caryl, C-Caralkyl, and C-Calkaryl groups. A process for preparing the catalyst component and an active catalyst comprising the catalyst component and useful in polymerization, such as ethylene polymerization.
