Abstract
An actuator () includes a differential (), the differential comprising a gear train comprising a first leg () and a second leg (); a motor () configured to power a rotating ball screw () through the first leg () of the differential (); and a brake () connected to the second leg () of the differential (), the brake () having a holding force, such that in the event a torque in the differential () exceeds the holding force, the brake () is configured to dissipate the torque in the differential ().
