Abstract

Described is a simple and inexpensive method of manufacturing a floor panel () with which a floor panel () can be produced with a beveled or recessed edge (), a top surface layer () extending continuously and in one piece from a top side () of a core () over the beveled edge (). A panel body () is first of all provided with a core (), a top side () of the core () being provided with a top surface layer (). A recess () is then formed from a side surface () into the panel body (), the recess extending under the top surface layer () and leaving a freestanding ledge () which includes the top surface layer (). The recess () is then closed by fixing the first and second recess surfaces () to one another.
