A process is described for the preparation of substituted heteroaromatics of the general formula (I) Likewise described is the use of cycloalkyl alkyl ethers, in particular cyclopentyl methyl ether, in the Kumada reaction for the preparation of substituted heteroaromatics, in particular substituted thiophenes.
