Particles having a relative viscosity or thickening effect ηof more than 2, measured in a liquid medium having a viscosity of 1 Pas at a temperature of 25° C. and measured at a shear gradient of 10 s. The particles can form beds having a porosity ε>0.5 in a dry form.
