Abstract
A piston pump, especially for supplying high-pressure fuel to a direct-injection internal combustion engine, including a pump housing () and a drive shaft (to) for actuating one or several pump plungers () which are radially oriented relative to the drive shaft in the pump housing. The drive shaft is rotatably mounted on one or several bearings () extending between a shaft inlet () of the pump housing and a rear housing wall () located opposite the shaft inlet. One bearing () extends between an internal surface () of a hollow cylindrical section () of the drive shaft and an external surface () of a journal () that runs from the rear housing wall into the hollow cylindrical section.
