Abstract

The invention relates to a lighting device () comprising a blue light source, e.g. an LED (), combined with a wavelength converting ceramic () and a collimating optical component (). The ceramic () is mechanically carried by the optical component (), for example by a glue or by insert moulding. Intermediate gaps between the light source () and the converter () are preferably filled with a material like silicone.
