A magnetic levitation railway having an eddy-current brake () cooperates with a reaction rail () of the driveway (). The eddy-current brake () has at least one brake magnet () which is movably mounted to the vehicle () and transversely to the reaction rail () and which is made to abut the reaction rail () if a normal force, for example, fixed by means of springs () is exceeded.
