Abstract
An apparatus for decomposing a channel in a closed-loop Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) communication system is provided. The channel decomposition apparatus includes a transmitter for preceding input symbols using a first matrix which is a product of a unitary matrix V, a diagonal matrix Φ and a blockwise Uniform Channel Decomposition (UCD) matrix P, before outputting the input symbols.
