Abstract
This invention relates to a catalyst compound for the metathesis of olefins represented by the formula: This invention also relates to process to make alphaolefins comprising contacting an olefin, such as ethylene, with a feed oil containing a triacylglyceride (typically a fatty acid ester (such as methyl oleate)) with the catalyst compound described above. The fatty acid ester may be a fatty acid methyl ester derived from biodiesel.
