Abstract
An anodized layer on a metallic substrate is treated in a manner to directly electrodeposit a metal sulfide solid lubricant material represented by MS, where M is Mo, W or other suitable metal, in pores of the anodized layer without any subsequent thermal and/or chemical treatment being needed.
