Abstract
The present invention describes an L-glutamic acid-producing bacterium which belongs to the genusor, wherein the bacterium has been modified by gene recombination to inactivate the rpoS gene. A method is also described for culturing the bacterium in a medium to cause accumulation of L-glutamic acid in the medium, and collecting L-glutamic acid from the medium.
