Abstract

An aqueous hair moisturizing composition is provided. The composition includes a cationic component, an oil containing about 70 percent or greater unsaturated fatty acids with chain length of Cor greater, a phytosterol and a cellulosic polymer. Also provided is a method of imparting extended moisturization to the hair including the steps of applying to the hair in need of extended moisturization a composition including a cationic component, an oil containing about 70 percent or greater unsaturated fatty acids with chain length of Cor greater, a phytosterol and a cellulosic polymer, and retaining the composition in contact with the hair for a time sufficient to impart extended moisturization to the hair.
