Abstract

A method of manufacturing a window shade includes applying an aqueous composition to one or both surfaces of a nonwoven fabric, wherein the aqueous composition includes a pleat retention component, an antistatic component, a stain-resistant component, and an antimicrobial component. The treated nonwoven fabric is dried and then indicia is printed on the finished surface(s). Portions of a treated nonwoven fabric may be formed into pleats and adhesively bonded together to form a cellular-type window shade.
