Abstract

A lancet removal toolcomprises an elongate hollow bodyhaving an openingat one end. The openingis bounded by resilient fingerswhich can flex to expand the openingto engage the bodyof the lancet. Withdrawal of the toolafter engagement with the lancet bodycauses the lancetto be removed from the lancet device. Subsequently, the lancetcan be moved from the openinginto the interior of the tool. The tooland the removal procedure enables lancetsto be removed without risk of injury or infection from contact with the contaminated needleof the lancet
