Abstract
Coated cemented carbide inserts (cutting tools), particularly useful for wet or dry machining of steels and stainless steels, are disclosed. The cutting tool insert is characterized by a cemented carbide substrate and a coating formed from an about 0.5 to 5 μm thick innermost layer of (Ti,Al)N and an about 1 to 5 μm thick layer of (Al,Cr)O.
