A restraint system () for a seat belt () is provided according to an embodiment of the invention. The restraint system () comprises one or more pneumatic ports () for actuating the restraint system () from a first position to a second position. The restraint system () also comprises one or more pyrotechnic ports () for actuating the restraint system () from either the first position or the second position to a third position.
