Abstract

Methods are presented for use with a wireless communication device. A digital image of an event venue is captured via a wireless communication device. The digital image of the event venue is displayed to the user. The wireless communication device interacts with the user to select the digital image. At least one task option corresponding to a customized or personalized event task is displayed. The wireless communication device interacts with the user to select the customized event task. The digital image is transmitted to a server system along with data indicating the customized or personalized event task to identify the event venue via the server system, based on the recognition of the event venue in the digital image, and not based on the recognition of an optical code. Event information is received and displayed, based on the recognition of the event venue to facilitate the customized event task.
