Abstract

A mobile station () transmits a connection request signal (TCCH) to a base station () (S), and detects whether or not a connection response signal (SCCH) is received from the base station () within a predetermined period of time. If the connection response signal (SCCH) is not received within the predetermined period of time, the mobile station () decreases the number of subcarriers used for transmitting a radio signal to the base station (), increases transmission power per subcarrier by an amount of power corresponding to an amount of decrease in the number of subcarriers (S), and retransmits the connection request signal (TCCH) (S).
