Abstract
An exhaust muffler () for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, especially of a motor vehicle, includes two front-side end panels () facing away from each other, a circumferential jacket () closed in the circumferential direction, at least one exhaust muffler insert (), with at least one inlet pipe () and with at least one outlet pipe (). At least one of the pipes () extends through the jacket () into the interior () of the exhaust muffler and is fastened to the jacket (). Manufacture can be simplified if the pipe () extending through the jacket () has a cone () at its inner end, if the exhaust muffler insert () has a countercone () and if the cone () meshes with the countercone ().
