Abstract
A honeycomb segmentis provided with a spacer(s)in each of predetermined regions from both the end face toward inside along the axial direction on one end side and the other end side in the axial direction of the outer peripheral surfaceof the outer peripheral wallso that the spacer(s) occupies(y) 30 to 80% of a route length through the center from a long sideto the other long sideof the outer peripheral surface. Since spacers are aligned in the direction along the short side, the spacers are formed in such a manner that the length b+bin the short side direction of the spacersoccupies 30 to 80% of a length a of the short side, thereby a honeycomb structure having practically no misalignment between segments upon bonding, with little dimensional deviation can be obtained.
