Abstract
Medical image observation assisting systemincluding CT-image-data retrieving portion, CT-image-data storing portion, information extracting portion, anatomical information DB, point of view/line of view setting portion, luminal organ image generating portion, anatomical nomenclature information generating portion, branch specifying portion, image synthesizing and displaying portionand user I/F control portion. The point of view/line of view setting portionsets a point of view and line of view for observing an external profile of a luminal organ, on the basis of structure information of the luminal organ extracted by the information extracting portion, while a point of interest is kept substantially on a centerline of the organ.
