Abstract
An optical system and an optical apparatus capable of properly correcting chromatic aberration over a visible wavelength range are obtained. An optical system includes a diffractive optical element and a refractive optical element on at least one of an object side and an image side of a stop. The following conditions are satisfied:|Δθ|>0.0380.003<|δθ|<0.038(Φ×ν×δθ)×(−Φ)<0where νrepresents an Abbe number of the refractive optical element, θrepresents a partial dispersion ratio for a g-line and a d-line, θrepresents a partial dispersion ratio for the d-line and a C-line, Φrepresents an optical power provided when light incident and exit surfaces of the refractive optical element are both in contact with air, and Φrepresents an optical power of the diffractive optical element. Here, Δθ=θ−(−1.687×10·ν+5.702×10·ν−6.603×10·ν+1.462), and δθ=θ−(−0.1968θ+0.5480).
