The LiVOis included in an amount of 0.5 to 3.0 wt % based on the total weight of the negative active material, and the vanadium carbide is included in amount of 0.5 wt % or less based on the total weight of the negative active material. The negative active material can improve discharge capacity of the non-aqueous rechargeable battery.
