Abstract

The invention relates to a process for digitizing document in which the document () is feed driven in front of a sensor () by a drive mechanism () comprising a plurality of elements (-) which come into contact with the document () while it is fed, wherein the sensor () is capable of generating digital data from an image on the document (), wherein the process comprises steps consisting of: —detecting when the contact is established or broken between the document () and one of the elements (), —correcting the digital data by applying to the data a distortion correction function which takes into account the position of the sensor () with respect to the image when the detection takes place.
