The invention relates to substituted arylsulphonylaminomethylphosphonic acid derivatives of general formula (I) wherein the groups Rto R, A and Z are defined as mentioned in the specification and claims, which are suitable for preparing a medicament for the treatment of metabolic disorders, particularly type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus.
