Abstract

The present invention relates to processes for the production of monodisperse SiOparticles by hydrolytic polycondensation of tetraalkoxysilanes and/or organotrialkoxysilanes, in which the hydrolytic polycondensation is carried out in a medium comprising water, one or more solubilizers and one or more amines, and in which highly monodisperse, non-porous particles are obtained. The present invention likewise relates to powders obtainable by the processes, and to the use thereof.
