Abstract
A honeycomb structureof the present invention includes: a cylindrical cell structurehaving porous partition walls and a plurality of cells separated and formed by the partition walls and functioning as fluid passages, and an outer peripheral coat layerdisposed so as to cover the outer periphery of the cell structure, and the outer peripheral coat layerhas an outer peripheral coat portiondisposed so as to cover the outer periphery of the cell structureand a protruding portion protruding outside from an end faceof the cell structureand disposed so as to cover the outside portion on the end faceof the cell structure. In the honeycomb structureof the present invention, the outer peripheral coat layeris effectively inhibited from being damaged and peeled.
