Abstract

A quakeproof plinth is adapted to make a showpiece mount vertically go down without a tilt so as to cushion and shelter a showpiece seated thereon from impact force exerted on the entire showpiece. A plinth () of the present invention is comprised of a showpiece mount (), a supporting member () capable of supporting the showpiece mount so as to move the same upward and downward, basement shock absorbers () enabling the showpiece mount to be shock-absorbingly bumped down thereon, a vibration detector (), and an actuating device () activated to move the showpiece mount downward in response to a detection signal produced from the vibration detector.
