Abstract
A traction drive transmission has an outer ring, a sun roller, support rollers, and one or more loading rollers. The outer ringincludes a racewaypresented inwardly. The sun rollerincludes a racewaypresented outwardly toward the racewayof the outer ring. The sun rolleris offset eccentrically with respect to the outer ringso that a wedge gapexists between the racewaysof the outer ringand sun roller. The support rollersare located between the outer ringand sun roller. Each support rollerhas first and second racewaysthat have different diameters and contacts the racewayof the sun rolleralong its first racewayand the racewayof the outer ringalong its second raceway.
