Abstract
A combustion engine includes an cylinder block having a combustion chamber formed therein, a throttle body forming a part of an air intake passage for introducing an air therethrough into the combustion chamber, a throttle valve accommodated in the throttle body for adjusting a cross section of the air intake passage, and an electrically driven throttle device having an actuator for driving the throttle valve. At least a portion of the throttle body is positioned intermediate between the actuator and the cylinder block.
