Abstract
A refrigerated merchandiser () includes an upright, open-front, insulated cabinet () defining a product display area () connected in airflow communication with a compartment () via an air circulation circuit (). A high pressure drop evaporator () and a plurality of closely spaced fans () are disposed within compartment (). The evaporator () is provided with a relatively high fin density heat exchanger coil providing a relatively high air side pressure drop through the evaporator. The increased flow resistance through the evaporator coupled with the plurality of closely spaced fans results in a substantially uniform evaporator outlet temperature profile across the length of the evaporator.
