Abstract

If a defect flag stored in a CFwhile a BIOS is being booted, an information processing deviceboots a second program stored in an external deviceconnected to a connection section, and if the defect flag is not detected, the information processing deviceconfirms whether or not the first program is bootable. If the first program is confirmed to be bootable, the first program is booted and if not, the defect flag is set in the CFand the power of the information processing apparatusis turned off.
